MHS Health believes all its members deserve healthcare that meets their needs. That’s why we offer diversity and cultural support services and resources.
Interpretation and Translation Services
The following services and aids are provided at no cost to members.
- Interpreter services in your chosen language, including American Sign Language.
Members have the right to have an interpreter at all covered services and during any grievance or appeal process. Members may choose their own interpreter or they can MHS Health to arrange for this service.
MHS Health recommends use of a professional interpreter instead of family, friends, and children. Scroll down to find a list of interpreters regularly used by MHS Health.
- Translation of written materials into your chosen language or another format such as large print, Braille, accessible electronic file, or audio file.

Race, Ethnicity, Language
We promise to keep your race, ethnicity, and language (REL) information private. We use some of the following ways to protect your information:
- Keeping paper documents in locked file cabinets.
- Requiring that all electronic information stays on physically secure media.
- Maintaining your electronic information in password-protected files.
We may use or share your REL info to perform our work. These activities may include:
- Finding health care gaps.
- Making intervention programs.
- Designing and directing outreach materials.
- Telling health care professionals and doctors about your language needs.
We will never use your REL information for approving, rate setting, or benefit decisions. We will not give your REL information to unauthorized people.
