MHS Health will continue to pay an extra $10 incentive for BMI Code 3008F

Date: 05/09/19

Dear Provider,

Thank you for your continued partnership with MHS Health Wisconsin in serving our members. In a letter dated April 11, 2019, we notified providers that effective June 1, 2019, MHS Health would no longer pay a $10 incentive for CPT II 3008F. Subsequently, Department of Health Services informed MHS Health that HMOs are expected to reimburse providers for reporting BMI. This letter is to notify you we will not discontinue the $10 payments for BMI as we had previously communicated.

MHS Health will continue to reimburse an additional $10 to providers and clinics for reporting BMI on professional claims for routine office visits and preventive services for members 2 to 18 years old on the date of service.

Providers who are eligible to receive the additional reimbursement include the following:

  • HealthCheck agencies
  • Nurse midwives
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Physician assistants
  • Physicians

Providers will be paid $10 per billing provider, per child, per calendar year for reporting BMI code 3008F for our MHS Health and Network Health Medicaid SSI and BadgerCare members.

Thank you for the services you provide to our members. Please reach out to Provider Services at 1-800-222-9831 with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

MHS Health Wisconsin
